Merry Christmas from the Hedin's!!

Our biggest news of 2002 comes in a very small package.  After almost 4 years of trying to get pregnant and two miscarriages we are excited that our family of 3 has grown to a family of 4!!!  August 23, 2002 marks the birth of Kathryn "Katie" Rose.  She is 4 months old now and has stolen all of our hearts.  She is "talking" up a storm and laughing now.  She likes to see what is going on around her so standing, sitting and being held are her favorite things to do.  She is such a joy!   To see pictures of her go to the birth announcement page.

Jonathan:

Within 4 weeks, Jonathan became a big brother, turned 6 and started kindergarten!  He is adjusting to all of it very well.  In kindergarten, he is enjoying getting to know all of his classmates and tells us of all of the new friends he is making.  His favorite parts of kindergarten are recess and choice time when they can pick any activity available and who they will do that activity with.  He is becoming a pretty good reader.   He had his first exposure to basketball and baseball through our church's Sport's Plus program.  They teach them the basic skills of the games without the competition.   He really enjoyed that.  A big milestone for him this summer was that he started swimming on his own steam!!  He was so proud!  He is also very excited that he lost his first tooth on December 15th!

Curt:

Curt is doing well at Marsh Financial Services as a financial analyst and is enjoying what he does there.  He seems to be well liked and respected by clients, co-workers and the insurance carriers he works with.  This last year he was asked to be on an process improvement steering committee which is a highly visible position.  Overall, it was a very good year for Curt professionally.  God continues to bless him and us with this job.  We are truly thankful.

Kris:

Kris finished teaching preschool in May and is phasing out her Pampered Chef business so she can spend more time being a mom.  She is also volunteering at Jonathan's school once a week helping kindergarteners that are struggling with their number and letter recognition.  She is finding that those activities along with being a domestic engineer (homemaker) are keeping her plenty busy.  After Katie was born, she took time off of singing at church but in January she plans to start that up again.

We hope you have a blessed 2003 and that the immensity of God's love for you would be fully realized this holy season.

All of our love,

Curt, Kris, Jonathan and Katie
